well my second fawm has come and gone
if you aren’t familiar, fawm stands for february album writing month, where the goal is to write 14 songs in the month of february.
i ended up with 28 songs recorded, ranging in stuff fully produced in ableton to middle of the night shitty phone recordings.
ive been terrified of releasing music, especially anything thats not ambient. so i went into this year figuring it’d be the same as last. i’d maybe put some stuff public on soundcloud and that’s it. but a few days before the end, i had a come to jesus moment and realized i needed to get that stuff out there away from me. i cannot hold it in myself any longer.
thats part of what im doing here. i feel like the internet has become a place where parts of yourself are so sectioned off. there’s so much baggage and expectation and conformity and that shows in the structures that have come to dominate the web. in order to 1. really allow myself to say what i want to say and 2. say it in the way i want to say it, i have to create my own spot. so here we are! now i just have to learn it enough to be able to use it lol.
anyway, there is a lot that went into fawm this year. and i am DIYing CDs for the mixtape/album!! its super exciting. here is a link to the bandcamp page if you’re interested (the digital album is free, and there are bonus tracks you get too!)
